2つのSpace Oddity、歌詞を比較してみた

David Bowieのオリジナルと、Chris Hadfield氏のISSヴァージョンの歌詞を比較してみた。オリジナルは悲劇的な結末。

Ground control to major Tom

Ground control to major Tom

Bowie:Take your protein pills and put your helmet on

Hadfield:Lock your Soyuz haych and put your helmet on

Ground control  to major Tom

Commencing countdown, engines on

Bowie: Check ignition and may gods love be with you

Hadfield: Detach from Station, and  may gods love be with you

This is ground control to major Tom, you've really made the grade

And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear

Bowie:Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare

Hadfield:But it's time to guide the capsule if you dare

Bowie:This is major Tom to ground control, I'm stepping through the door

Hadfield:This is major Tom to ground control, I've left forevermore

And I'm floating in a most peculiar way

And the stars look very different today

For Here am I sitting in a tin can far above the world

Bowie:Planet Earth is blue and there's nothing I can do

Hadfield:Planet Earth is blue and there's nothing left to do

Bowie:Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles, I'm feeling very still

Hadfield:Though I've flown one hundred thousand miles, I'm feeling very still

BowieAnd I think my spaceship knows which way to go

Hadfield:And before too long I know it's time to go.

Bowie:Tell my wife I love her very much, she knows

Hadfield:Our commander comes down back to earth and knows

Bowie:Ground control to major Tom, your circuits dead, there's something wrong

Hadfield:The time is near, there's not too long

Can you hear me, major Tom?

Can you hear me, major Tom?

Can you hear me, major Tom?

Bowie:For here am I sitting in my tin can far above the Moon

Hadfield:For here am I sitting in my tin can Last glimpse of the world

Bowie:Planet Earth is blue and there's nothing I can do

Hadfield: Planet Earth is blue and there's nothing left to do
